A turn in the tide?

Hubby and I have really been thinking and praying about the upcoming elections lately, our sermon this past Sunday even mentioned them as well and what may end up happening. So I should warn you that I may offend you in this post.

This election regardless of which side of the fence you stand on could seriously change the direction America could go. Everything we have stood and fought for regarding our ethics and morals could be wiped away in 24 hours. Will America quit supporting Jerusalem? Will we no longer be blessed as the nation who has helped protect Jerusalem? Will our right to homeschool taken away nationwide?

I have heard several people say "it is scary to think of what will happen should ____ win." Yes, it will be "scary" but our home sees it thru a different light. The Lord has told us already what will happen in the end times and we know that we will not be around to witness the true "scariness" of it all. I know that the Lord will return one day and when he does he will take us home and we will be secure with him.

Should you vote? ABSOLUTELY! Should you pray? ABSOLUTELY! If you know Jesus as your personal Lord and savior though, you need to trust in him that he will protect you!

Texans get out and vote today, your vote CAN make a difference!

The Other Side Of War

An American Flag will be draped over the coffin of a young man,

A brave young solider will be lowered into the ground with grace and dignity,

A 21 gun salute will be given in his honor,

His parents will weep,

His wife will weep,

His daughter of a young age will not understand what is happening,

A flag will be folded with perfection then placed in the arms of his widow,

His family will have an empty chair at Easter,

And our country will have one less warrior standing tall and proud defending her.

Could this happen in America?

You bet it can, we can't rely on someone else to take a stand on issues that we feel are important. We can't rely on our neighbors to elect a good politician to represent us. Each of us must get out and use the rights that many before us died for. If not one day this could be the situation here on our own turf. Don't say it can't happen, anything is possible.

Thank them, and then thank their spouse who served along side them.

The Price of Freedom

We have learned lots about the price of freedom from living in a military town

The price is watching a mother raise her children on her own because she lost her husband to war

The price is watching a mother labor a premature baby with severe problems on her own because her husband is away at war

The price is listening to your neighbors stories about the most recent door he has had to knock on to deliver the news, and you see the toll it takes on him

The price is being at a friends house and seeing her tense up everytime the phone rings, because she doesn't know if THIS will be the phone call she doesn't want

The price is going to church and meeting a soilder who lost limbs who is now learning how to function without them

The price is watching a spouse rejoice that their wife is coming home after 7 months, but then watching them weap as their wife leaves again for another 11

The price is watching families struggle financially because the pay doesn't make ends meet

The price is watching them come back learning how to "intergrate" themselves back into life with their spouse and children

The price is a spouse who just wants people to know what sacrifices their spouse is making for them

The price is a high price, one that many including myself aren't willing to pay. Have you shown your appreciation for someone who is?

First of all the movie has been found!!! Someone even turned it in for us on Monday! We are greatly excited over this!

Today our neighbors baby (Laci) will be having her cochlear implant surgery, so if it is between 7-11 say a quick prayer for her would you please? They are trying it out on her right side first and it really needs to work for many reasons, but in the end I guess it is all up to the Lord.

Yesterday we went and picked up daddy from the airport, that was an experience. First of all I think I found the last parking spot in the entire area, and to be honest I don't think it was even a spot. Then I got the girls out quickly (we were late of course) and we started running, and we were running I thought to myself "hmmm I just parked in a spot that wasn't really a spot and now I am running, we must look suspicious". Luckily I guess we didn't though. We got inside and made our way to the section where passengers come down the "shoot", and began our wait.

Next to us was a "Cinnabon" with about 30-40 Sailors waiting in line. As I stood there watching them in their crisp white uniforms each of them holding their "orders", I studied each of their faces wondering if they would come back alive, missing a limb, or lying under the flag they fight for. Most of them couldn't be but a bit over 18, wondering if they were only children how did their families feel? Some of them played with the girls, even getting a few quiet thank you's from Claire.

I feel blessed as well as humbled to have been witness to each of these fine representatives of our Nation heading to serve our Country. So if you would say a prayer for them as they will be landing sometime today into the midst of a war, and they as well as all the soilders need our prayers.

"Blessed Is The Nation Whose God is Lord." Pslam 33:12

It is 2007 and do many of us really remember what July 4th is about? Do we teach our children the importance of today? Not just a day off from work, where we grill, party, and blow off dangerous items, but it is a day of FREEDOM. Freedom that didn't come free, nor does it come free today. We are blessed to be born in America. Regardless of your "status" in the country, the poorest of the poor are still better off than anyone else in the world, we have FREEDOM. The FREEDOM to go to Church where we so desire, FREEDOM to elect our own officials, FREEDOM to voice our opinions. There are so many countries that do not have even the slighest sliver of freedom, and they look at our country with envy, yet it is something that each of us take for granted. We recite the pledge, but do we really SPEAK and FEEL the words? We vote or do we? Do we write our Senators to encourage them with the good things they are doing? Do we write our Senators to encourage them to do the right thing? At baseball games when the United States National Anthem is played, do we stand with our hands over our heart and sing? Do we even know the words?

Our Countries Independence did not come free, it came from the blood of men who gave their lives for you and I.

We also have FREEDOM in THE God whom we trust. If you know the Lord as your personal savior than you too have FREEDOM. Do we take our FREEDOM in Christ for granted? There is a peace and understanding that comes with knowing the Lord and for those that do not know him, see it and they too see that envy us. Or do they? Are we showing others Jesus thru our words and actions? Do we miss church because we were out late the night before? Do we take his name in vein? Do we look the other way at the individual on the corner in judgment of them? Do we close our prayers to our Heavenly Father In Jesus Name?

Our Freedom in Christ, did not come free. It came from the Blood of a Lamb, Jesus.

As we go about our day remember the sacrifices that were made for each of us, and how our Country was founded by men who believed in our Lord Jesus Christ. In a society where they are trying to omit the words "In God We Trust" the basic founders of our Country as well as those that signed The Declaration of Independence would not agree with our current societies view on The Pledge of Allegiance. Our Country was founded by believers, after all it was the first President of The United States taht said, "it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor."

And it was John Adams who said “we have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Benjamin Franklin a signer on both the Declaration of Independence as well as the Constitution stated “I’ve lived, sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this
truth: That God governs in the affairs of men. If a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without
His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We’ve been assured in the
sacred writings that unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. I firmly
believe this, and I also believe that without His concurring aid, we shall succeed in this
political building no better than the builders of Babel.”

Make today a special day, by remembering the cost and price in which our Freedom came.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
