Special Cat
Well Gabby went to the vet again, and we saw a different doctor who was impressed with the cat. She has this weird spot on her back and the older she gets the more noticeable it is, turns out it is her calik (probably spelled wrong). Apparently there is a dog some ridgeline blah blah blah that people pay lots of money for, turns out we have a ridgeline cat.
No there is no such title for a cat, so if you googled it google would laugh at you, but it is very rare. The doctor went and got the rest of the staff and they all poked her and gauked at her and talked about her. The doctor kept asking where we got her, hilarious!
We are glad she is different, each of us are different and it is fitting that the animals that come here are too.

Hunting a cat
First of all it is 6:00 in the morning and both my children have been awake for 30 minutes. A mom is supposed to have time to get up spend time in The Word, have time to go online and even start some chores, besides they need their sleep right? WRONG! Oh well maybe Claire will take a nap today.
Have you ever hunted a cat? Okay I don't REALLY mean hunting in the literal sense, but I certainly feel like it every morning around 3:00 a.m. This magical time is when Gabby thinks we are dead asleep, and she can sneak onto our bed, and then come lay right in between hubby and I on one of our pillows. This has been a reoccuring theme, and this is considered unacceptable behavior by hubby and I. We feel cats don't belong on furniture, counters, in the babies room, and by NO MEANS near our heads at night.
Alas I sleep with a water spray bottle, and alas every morning she will try to sneak her way up to our heads only for me to start spraying frantically because I am half asleep, half awake, and fully annoyed! I got hubby the other night, poor thing. She will learn, I know she will, but until then I will keep hunting her every morning.

The perfect pair

This cat could not be MORE PERFECT for my daughter if we had tried.
See my daughter is just like me, she considers pets to be human like, therefore she treated Gabby like a human today by carrying her thru the house, pushing her in the baby stroller and shopping cart, dressing her up with clip on earings, playing doctor, covering her up with every conceivable blanket, and shoving her in the litter box every few minutes ("in case the cat needed to go poopy"). While watching her I felt like I was watching myself ions ago, as this behavior is exactly what my sister and I would do with our cats. We would even go so far to wrap blankets around them and make them "walk" down the hallway pretending they would get married.

Gabby provided a full days worth of entertainment to the point that my daughter, who NEVER takes naps took one today. They both crashed at the same time and both slept for a long time, then they got up and were at it again until it was time for church.
I can't remember why we waited so long now to get a cat, but I am so grateful that Gabby is the perfect fit for our household!!
So this is what the world looks like from this view.

Gabby, Gabby, Gabby
We picked up Miss Gabby after gymnastics yesterday, and oh my goodness was my daughter so excited and confused. Claire was confused because we told her she wouldn't not be getting a cat until her birthday, but since we found this one she could have it early. When we got to their house and our friend was loading her up in the carrier, Claire's main question was "why are we taking her home now, you said I could have her for my birthday?" It was a ligitiment question, one that I didn't have a great answer for. Needless to say she is still thrilled to have her. Gabby hollered the whole way home, but I figured this would happen because she has never gone in a car before.
Since she is getting her shots today, she is currently occupying my bathroom. She has a nice set up in there including a Cinderella night light, she got lots of love and attention well into the evening when we all retired for the night. Apparently this cat thinks 4:30 is the appropriate time for this household to get up, because she started hollering, and refused to stop. It is 6:05 and she is still hollering. Hopefully once she has free roam of the house she wont find this necessary, while I get up at 5:30 every morning another hour seems obscene to me.
